Happy Easter

Buddy Rabbit came to visit us in July 2010. (my original post).  The plan was that we would look after him for a couple of weeks while his family was on vacation.  But when they returned they told us they didn't really want him back. :(

So ... being the animal lovers that we are, we adopted him and have loved him every since!

Happy Easter from my family to you and yours!

Some Inspiration!

My husband and son are back from Paris and they brought me home a copy of marie claire idées just in time for Easter.  I love this magazine so I thought I would share with you a look inside.  So many great ideas and lots of inspiration!  It's that once a year treat that I really look forward to.

Green Grass!

Some early morning visitors on our front lawn. The snow is melting and Spring is finally in the air. For me it was the perfect way to start this wonderful holiday weekend.

We have been here for 6 years and honestly this is something I will never take for granted. It reminds me why we live here and how much I love the country life.

Happy Good Friday!

Holding On

This is what Spring looks like around our house this evening.  Yesterday was the first day of Spring but it sure doesn't look that way here. Thankfully the temperature is very mild so I know this snow won't last much longer. Winter is holding on and I'm secretly loving it!

We are lucky to be surrounded with lots of beautiful evergreens.  A little bit of snow and it feels like Christmas.

Together

Butterfields and Blushing are on my cutting table today. I'm working on new quilt designs and I'm loving the two of them together!

Happy First Day of Spring!

Sitting Pretty!

"Sitting Pretty" has just been added to my new patterns!

This table topper can also be found on the kits page of our website. The kit includes the pattern plus all the fabric for the top and the binding. It's a fun little spring project!

This pattern and kit are a pre-order and will be ready to ship on March 26th.

"Milk and Honey" and "Splash" have also been added to my website as a pre-order. They will be ready to ship on March 26th as well.

Thanks for stopping by!

Splash

Introducing Splash!

These extra-large star blocks finish 16" square and I really like the way each star in this pattern highlights a different fabric from Blushing.

I hope you like it too!

My Boys are off to Paris

My husband Geoff and our son William are heading off to Paris, France on Saturday.  Geoff has business in Paris every spring and lucky Will goes along with him.  I'm so happy that they have this time together and they always come back with lots of great stories.

A couple of years ago I posted this video that they sent me. The Eiffel Tower sparkles so beautifully at night!  If you have never seen it you have to watch this video.  Sooo pretty!!

With all the talk of Paris around our house these days it has me thinking about my quilt pattern “Paris” and how pretty it would look made up in Blushing. I started working on it this morning and I only have a few blocks ready but I thought I would share them with you.

Louis is hoping this quilt will be for him - or maybe he just wants a cookie.  Look at that face and those ears. ... Oh my gosh, there is just no way I could ever say no to him.

Introducing Chevy!

I love the way these chevrons are dancing around this quilt.  Chevy finishes 54" square and was designed with Blushing.

Right click on the images to view them larger

Chevy will be available on my website this coming week. I will also have kits available for this pattern in the next few days.  I have had lots of e-mails requesting kits for Sunnyside Up and Just Peachy - They are coming soon I promise.

I'll be back to post another new pattern early this week.  Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Milk and Honey ... and A Little Happy!

I just finished the binding on all my new pattern designs and the quilts are ready to debut!

The first one on the list is Milk and Honey.

I'm a big fan of hexagons and you will be happily surprised at how easy this quilt is to make.

Milk and Honey finishes 54" by 68".

I'll be posting lots of pictures of my new quilt patterns in the next few days.  They will all be available on my website very soon so please check back.

Quilting Therapy

I'm in my studio today making a couple of these little bags for Easter.  I plan to fill them with chocolate for some special little ones in my life.  Like any business, even the quilting business can have its ups and downs and this week was a very stressful one.  I really needed some happy quilting therapy to end the week and this was perfect.  It's Saturday so I hope you all get to work on something that makes you happy!

I also made some more of these - they make me happy ...

... so I can make more of these - which make me even happier! :)

If you would like to make your own Dresden Sunnyside Up blocks, you'll find the pattern on my website.  The best part: there is no template for the petals - just easy cutting and piecing.

Oh, and it's great quilting therapy!

Blushing Fat Quarter Bundles

I just added some Blushing Fat Quarter bundles to
The Pattern Basket web shop.

They are all packaged up and ready to ship, but quantities are limited so come visit my web shop.
